PDO thread lift method

The skin on your face, neck and décolleté slackens as you age. With the PDO thread lift method, your skin can easily lift and tighten. It is a safe and fast treatment with which we achieve a beautiful and natural result. We have been using the method in our clinic for years.

During a PDO thread lift treatment we use PDO threads. These threads are made of the soluble substance polydioxanone. The dissolvable sutures are placed in the skin and dissolve completely automatically after 6 to 8 months.

So we do not use permanent wires. As a result, the risk of complications is very small. In consultation, PDO can be used to lift the face, décolleté and neck. The threads not only provide lifting but also stimulate collagen formation in the skin.

For an optimal result, we can use PRP, botox and fillers in addition to the PDO thread lift method. You discuss with the doctor whether this is necessary.

Before the treatment
We recommend that you do not drink or smoke alcohol for 48 hours before the treatment. It is also important not to take blood-thinning medicines. For the free intake and administrative processing, we ask you to be present 15 minutes in advance.
The treatment
After the administrative processing and intake without obligation, the doctor starts the treatment. He disinfects the skin and marks the puncture points. If you wish, the doctor will start with an anaesthetic. Using an anesthetic syringe, he can numb the entire path of the wire or the place where the cannula is inserted. He then gently places the PDO wire under your skin using a thin hypodermic needle or inserts the wire with a cannula through a previously punctured opening. After placement, he removes the needle/cannula, leaving the wire under the skin and in the desired location. The wire is placed in the subcutaneous connective tissue and is invisible.
After treatment
There is a slightly visible result immediately after the treatment. But you will only see the maximum result after 3-5 months. The first days after the treatment you may experience a slight swelling, some redness and bruising. This goes away quickly. For the best possible result, it is important to follow the doctor’s instructions carefully.
Result
The result of the PDO thread lift method remains visible for approximately 1 to 2 years. Because the collagen has to be produced, the optimal result is visible after 3 to 5 months. In consultation with the doctor, a retreatment or additional treatment with botox or fillers is planned.
